LVE Charitable Foundation joined forces with Peabody (one of London’s oldest and largest housing providers) to bring together the cream of London’s most employee-friendly companies for our job fair, which ran on Tuesday 25th April.

Over 30 companies provided visitors with advice and information about a wide range of exciting career paths. Career options available included the Metropolitan Police Service, beauty and fashion, health care and construction. There were also several companies happy to discuss apprenticeship programs for younger people.

CEO of LVE Charitable Foundation, Karen Bellamy, provided the opening words. She was pleased to see the event attended by so many enthusiastic job seekers of all ages, cultural backgrounds and areas of London. It was a truly inclusive event!

This fair was part of the ongoing mission by LVE Charitable Foundation to provide the local community, particularly younger people, with opportunities to find work and be involved in their boroughs.

We know most people who are unemployed want to work and contribute to society but are often marginalized and treated as though they are second-class citizens. We hope this job fair helped to show Leyton that there are brilliant companies in London who can provide people with good jobs and a pathway into a secure career.

We were delighted to receive the following testimonial from Peabody Community Foundation:

“Peabody Community Foundation (PCF) would like to commend the support provided to us in Waltham Forest by LVE Charitable Foundation; sponsoring a well-represented Careers Fair which we hosted in your beautiful Leyton Town Hall premises.

“Your support enabled PCF to collaborate with many partners and employers to give residents the opportunity to access jobs and training providers, while bolstering our corporate Employment & training target to support 1000 people into jobs yearly.

“I would like to reiterate my appreciation to your excellent customer focused and professional team that supported us in advance of and throughout the day, with a venue and accessible facilities that superseded our expectations, enabling the day to be a success.

“I have no hesitation in recommending the venue and its resources to other business partners, residents and associates; and will endeavour to do this diligently.

“Thank you Karen for your support and look forward to our next Careers Fair.”

Yours sincerely,

Roz Gordon,
Head of Community Investment, PCF  Waltham Forest
