Candlelight Club Summer Ball 2017

Leyton Great Hall and The Chamber hosted the Candlelight Club Summer Ball, 2017 – an Art Deco extravaganza in most appropriate surroundings and, as is usual with the Candlelight Club, a complete sell-out.

Guests all arrived in period costume and were treated to gastronomic magnificence and an evening of first-class entertainment. The evening was planned to the last detail and executed to perfection and we look forward to hosting their Halloween Ball. Continue reading

Choices and Consequences

On the 13th July 2017 LVE Charitable Foundation was happy to host a brilliant Met Police event at The Great Hall Leyton called Choices and Consequences.

Up to 128, 10 and 11 year olds took part in the final quiz-style competition, held at the Leyton Great Hall, which was provided at no cost by the Foundation. Continue reading

ICAN (MPS Waltham Forest) short film competition

LVE Foundation was delighted to host a Dragons’ Den style student film event on Wednesday 14th June. Featuring contributions from Waltham Forest College, Leyton Sixth Form College, Sir George Monoux College and Big Creative Education, students were asked to create a short film focusing on issues they felt were important to young people in their community.

The hard-hitting films and presentations covered topics such as sexual harassment on public transport, road safety, cyber bullying and knife crime. The quality of the films and the range of topics covered impressed everyone at the well-attended event. Each team showed a distinctive style and approach to their chosen subjects and provided a varied program for the audience. Spring Wedding Fayre, 2017

A touch of glamour was brought to Leyton Great Hall on the 29th April when LVE Charitable Foundation hosted a Spring Wedding Fayre. Thanks to the lovely Sharon Gordon and Chantelle Brookner from Hamper Queens, the space was packed with stalls catering to everything you could possibly need to plan a wedding.

Visitors could browse stalls offering wedding dresses, cakes, travel packages and beauty products while enjoying complimentary champagne and strawberries and traditional Caribbean foods. Continue reading

Jobs Fayre, 2017

LVE Charitable Foundation joined forces with Peabody (one of London’s oldest and largest housing providers) to bring together the cream of London’s most employee-friendly companies for our job fair, which ran on Tuesday 25th April.

Over 30 companies provided visitors with advice and information about a wide range of exciting career paths. Career options available included the Metropolitan Police Service, beauty and fashion, health care and construction. There were also several companies happy to discuss apprenticeship programs for younger people. Continue reading

Once again, LVE Charitable Foundation hosted an International Women’s Day Event in The Great Hall at the Legacy Business Centre in Leyton.

The event took place on Saturday, 11th March, 2017 and was very well attended.
